    $40 at academy.
Pushing or pulling that ten miles and possibly through some sort of hill or uneven ground would be terrible.

    Holy **it!!!!

    A real assault wheelbarrow!!!!!!
It needs a flamethrower to be classified as such :)

I'm carrying an FAL, an AK (47 and 74) and an AR with 10 mags each. That way I'll be good to go with whatever ammo I find laying around from all the dead enemy combatants, whoever they may be.

Seems like a lot of animousity here. I thought this whole thing (Bayou Shooter) was just for folks kinda like me to discuss random topics. Whether those topics are realistic or just plain ridiculous, the idea is still for open discussion. So why all the poo flinging here? If someone says that they are Rambo, who the hell cares. This thing has turned into an argument with occasional person actually trying to post something about the topic. What gives?

Not to sure dbradgriffith, seems as if we have some people on here that aren't very literate and took this thread for an argument instead of following the guidelines, are you surprised? I stated what rifle (single rifle) would you take in a SHTF situation (ranging from the realistic to the theatrical). Didn't mention anything about adding negative commentary towards anyone's decisions, but children will play correct :dunno:

It was asked what rifle someone would take into a SHTF situation. Of course people are going to try to defend their choices and debate other people's choices. Nature of a forum. No big deal. No poo-flinging!

Realistically of the 20+ guns in my safe, ill prob grab my sks and my BOB. The sks is a damn reliable and capable platform and fits me like a glove with the adjstable tapco stock, the BOB has a henry survival .22 already in it along with 500 .22cal, 250 7.62x39 rounds and all I really need (minus a tent) for a 5-10 stay in the wild for under 30lbs. I figure if I had to I could make it to my hideout location in 7 days averaging 3.5 miles a day.

Not sure if id bring the pistol or not, if so it would be my trusty heritage rough rider.....which is fairly light and would mount on the waist belt of the bob.

Im not in the best of shape but I have actually tried walking 3.5 miles in a day with a 45lb pack.....fairly easy in the winter, somewhat brutal in the summer. (anyone who has elk hunted in colorado can do this...its all in the pack and how you walk). The Louisiana heat is the killer and mosquitos in the woods are brutal.

Im only 29....so I dont have many sore joints yet like some of you old geezers lol!

So what all do you keep in your pack? And why are you skeptical of a pistol? I like how you are only talking about 3.5 miles a day. That is very realistic. A lot of people talk about how they are going to do ten plus miles a day with their gear and whatsoever. I just don't see that happening.
