I started on a 308 Remington 700 myself. However one of my more recent buys was a ruger american in 300 blackout. Absolutely no kick. Short barrel makes it light for a youngster. And the composite stock is easily cleanable when they drop it in the mud. I'm planning letting my nephew use it when...
I was debating the same. Finally decided on 300BLK. I will use mine primarily for hunting and plinking. After reading some of the other post, I think I'll just get an AK to shoot x39 steel.
I'm looking to get a good punch set to work on my AR. I would preferably like to buy a whole set with roll pin starter. I've looked at Grace and Wheeler. Any other good ones I should know about?
I was calling all weekend and didn't get and didn't get anyone. Last time I was there was aright after thanksgiving and they had a paper sign saying range open at 10am.
Rode out there anyway and it was open. Thanks for the info.
I've used both. Auto-5, the original not the remake, Belgium and Japan. Also the Remington Model 12. 870 is the best for a starting shotgun you know is going to be roughed up. I agree with him an. Unless it's an 870 or 700 remington isn't what it used to be, IMO.
I have an H&R in 35 Whelen. Taking it hog hunting in a couple of weeks. Nice groups on paper with Hornady 200gr. I'll let you know how the hogs like it. Has a bit of a kick and the trigger is kinda heavy. Both problems I can fix myself. For the price I consider it a deal. $220
