I recently took my required CCW class, NRA Basic Handgun . Not only was the class very, very basic for a lifelong hunter/shooter but the course gave very little info on when or where one should / could use lethal force. Nor was any info given about what to realistically expect after the fact...
I went yesterday for my 1st time ever to see a horse race. What a nice venue. We had a great time. We even came out ahead on our bets.
I left my 9 in the vehicle. I did stop a security guard who stated "no weapons". Still wish I had it considering the neighborhood we were in.
On page 66 of the LA. Hunting regs for 2015-16, feral hog hunting is allowed during any open season. That means I can hog hunt with a shotgun during teal season or dove season. It goes on to say that "hunters may use centerfire pistols in addition to using guns allowed for season in progress"...
I am more of a wing shooter than a big game hunter. I will make room for 2 shotguns (Browning Citori O/U Whites Upland Special & Berretta 3901A).
I am torn on the rifle though. Keep going guys!
If you could only have 1 rifle for everything, what would it be? I am contemplating full-time RVing. Space is limited. I need a rifle for hunting, self defense, zombie apocalypse, ect...
I am thinking an AR-10. In your opinion, is an AR-15 just too small of a caliber for deer?
IS anyone in the North Shore area presently using a Trijicon HD Night sight. I sure would like to look thru a set. If so, what have you found to be the pros and cons of said sights?
Found this sight looking for info on CCW.
Lifelong resident of Slidell. Grew up duck hunting. Did my time deer hunting, but have returned to my wing shooting roots. Interested now protecting my life and family in this crazy world. Seems to be a lot of good info here on all things concerning guns.
