Anyone have any good suggestions for a Level III OWB for XD/XDM's?
Thanks
Safariland models 6360 and 6365.
Not sure the model #, but the Safariland ALS witht he paddle and belt slide attachment is only 45.00. Like that it is only Level II, but it is solid. that is what I use for my Beretta PX4. You can also get it with the hood and the hood cover if you want for max protection---that is what we carry for duty.
Very solid holsters.
Ever look at the Blackhawk serpas? I'm not sure how good they are just happened to be looking on their sight when I read this thread.

Please tell me what is so bad about the Serpa's? NOT just that they are Diablo! BUT real facts, I am interested because I have one and would like facts.
Many Thanks!

Great range holster, but not ideal for Daily defensive carry.
My too sense.
The serpa's retention button can be locked if you end-up on the ground and a pebble or small stick were to become lodged in the opening. The botton on the outside is just waiting for the BG to get to it, and the holster is generally flimsy.
The Safariland ALS paddle/belt slide combe is a much better holster at similar price of a Serpa. It has a padded interior and has a much more rigid shell, and the locking mechanism is between the pistol and the officer where no one else sees it.
The Safariland #'s go like this;
6378- (tells the holster style - ALS Paddle)
148- (tells the gun it fits - 148= 4" XD, 149=5"XD)
411- (tells the finish and R/L side - 411 RH, 412 LH)
K15- (tells you that it is a kit w/belt attachment for 1.5" belt)
I would highly recommend the 6360 or 6365 ALS duty holster for a uniformed officer, and a 6378 for Detective/Plain Clothes officer.
Yea but, but, that's just an internet rumor and/or that has never happened in real life and/or it has never happened to me and, as such, it is impossible.This^.
Of more concern is what Brannon mentioned; that "finger lock" that so many wax euphoric over is an ND looking for a place to happen. And it HAS happened.
I'll put it this way... if I was on the line with other shooters, and I saw a Serpa on one of them's belt, I'd get as far away from that individual as I could. The extra finger movement to ensure keeping it clear of the trigger, on that holster, has to be solidly programmed in. Not many folks have enough time on the holster for that.
