Long morning on the range. We worked on back up weapons, was instructed in Louis's philosophy that drawing a backup weapon (he prefers the term alternate weapon) may be quicker than reloading your primary. So if it's quicker, why not draw your alternate and keep sending lead downrange?

Then we worked on more movement drills. I see the scary moving mannequin targets laying on the sidelines, so I guess those are coming up soon enough. At the shotgun class we used them to bring all the individual techniques together. It's more disconcerting than you would think shooting a fully clothed mannequin and watching his face implode.

    Burger time! Pictures uploading.

It's worth noting we've dribbled down to 14 students. One guy had to leave to take care of something at home. Another guy left when he had some kind of problem with his eye and couldn't safely continue. The eye problem was like an allergy, not gun related.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is the infamous Pimp Glock being carried in a Fobus paddle rig? Where's the custom Rosen made from the skin of a baby seal and lined with panda fur?

Hey, guys. This is Reese. I just got back from the eye doctor. I just had a bad allergic reaction to whatever is in the air out there. I couldn't have stayed even if I wanted though. It was just not safe out there with this fubar'd eyeball.

I did get a ticket in Krotz Springs on the way back to Alexandria though. Tell "Baron" that I told the officer to "just go ahead and write the ticket" per the breakfast conversation this morning. Just kidding. Nah, the guy was nice as all get out.

Tell Louis 1,000 thanks and more for the instruction. It was an excellent class; I just wish I could have been there for the rest of it.

Not a lot of down time this afternoon. Louis asked me tackle him then he punched me in the face. Then I threw a mag into his nuts. No lie. Pictures of it all later.

    Moving targets coming out.

Louis: "Who here has taken an advanced class?"

    Pangris raised his hand.

Louis: "Paul that was a trick question. There are no advanced classes. You can hang upside from a tree and shoot a gun but there are only so many ways to align the sights and pull the trigger. You put some camouflage and velcro on and you call it an advanced class."
