    Nagant photos I hope lol

Not much to look at but I did spend about a hour with my dremel tool polishing the bolt. I was thinking about taking a fine file and rounding off the receiver where the lug on the bolt rides to lock up the action. It is a sharp turn and I can't see any harm in just rounding the corner wher it traveles to make it easier to lock up. Any thoughts on that idea would be appriciated. Doesn't seem like it would have any neg. effects???

Found Surplus ammo in stock at Midway

After digging for more than an hour, found & ordered surplus ammo at MidwayUSA. Just got confirmation that 880 rounds shipped, and should arrive on Monday.

Everywhere else I checked was a price gouge, or had the ammo listed as back order.

    God bless

Checked AIM website, said out of stock. Tried calling, got busy signal for more than 1 hour. Midway shipment tracking shows delivery scheduled for tomorrow!

I plan to keep a lot of rounds on hand, but I'll be opening a can of 440. If some folks from the group buy want a small number of rounds to get them past the panic, I'd be willing to sell some at near cost.

I've stripped and re-stained the stock. Will be applying Tru oil to it. Stripped the old bluing and tried some cold bluing. Not to impressed with the outcome.

FYI - be aware of some belly cancer on these rifles. Be sure to treat it.

I'm going to pull the bolt on mine and send it off to get a bent bolt put on. I have a new scope sitting ready. I'm waiting on the Archangel stock to be ready. I know this is sacrilege, but I want to modify one. Anybody else going to do anything similar?

Yup. I have another one in great condition all original and I am gonna get the archangel stock for this one. Any ideas on how to mount a scope?

Pretty good write up on redoing one.

Yes - I'm playing with the original stock for now but intend to order a nice laminated thumb through stock soon.

FYI - good site for a scope mount whenever he gets a new batch in. Contact to get on the waiting list. http://www.jmeckscopemounts.com/

    Timney Triggers $89.00 @ E.Arthur Brown. About $6.00 shipping.

For < $0.05 you can shim the trigger spring with a washer and decrease the long trigger pull.

You can buy a variety of scope mounts on amazon that will work. I got a basic one from mosin pro when they were still in business. You remove the rear elevated sight with a punch and you drop the new rail or sight mount in right where it was. There's also a see through tri-rail that looks great. It's supposed to be sturdier. I may get it if it will fit on the archangel stock.

Anyone got a right up on how to strip the stock? It's easy to take apart and I want to get all this cosmoline off and get it down to the bare wood.
