I would never let them bake a cake for me.

If you were a pretentious attention seeking neo-yuppie hipster wannabe, desirous for acceptance by the "In" crowd, in order to be able to say; "Hey, Look at me! I buy "organic" and am a good steward of the planet!", who turns your nose up at Wal-Mart shopping scum as if to say, "Please. I would never associate with such riff-raff!", so you can feel good about spending more money for an avocado and an aroma therapy candle than everyone else, and had more money than sense, you would! ;)

Don't forget, they're LGBT friendly, so if you need a penis cake for a same-sex marriage, you're good to go!

Better food than you can find most places, for one. Not worth it day to day, but when you want to go all out, their fish and produce are hard to beat. Cheese and beer (yeah, I'll occasionally spend what a case of Miller costs for a single beer, I do enjoy it) as well.

The most expensive bottle of beer that I've ever bought, was close to $30 for a 750ml bomber. Whole Foods surprisingly stays competitive with craft beer prices, so I'll occasionally go get some super duper exclusive stuff from them, if they have it. However, not all Whole Foods have the good stuff, so it's kind of a moot point.

Anyway, as far as "good food" goes, you can find better food in better places, but you have to shop around. I have a quality fish market right around the corner and have local produce withing a mile. The only thing I really have to go to the store for, is red meat and Oreos :D

The most I spent was $25 for a bomber of Barrel Aged Grand Reserve when I went to Parish. They may have been a little proud, but it was still one of the best beers I've had.

Yeah, you can always shop around, and I usually do because I'm not a millionaire, but as far as almost everything under one roof, it's hard to go wrong at Whole Foods.

I think Whole Foods is a success because the product is better the service is better the store is generally very clean, the people are friendly and helpful. The selection of eggs, produce, poultry and beef is great and it doesn't look like a bomb went off next to it. The prices are slightly higher than W/D, but only slightly. JMO

It's not that I hate Whole Foods. What I hate are the hipsters that shop there.

The workers are friendly, the beer prices are competitive, and they have the beer I want. Stereotypes come about, because they are usually true (to an extent). Granted, Dorignac's has far worse hipsters than Whole Foods, but I can't stand having to throw elbows with a 23 year old strung out heroin addict to get to my beloved craft booze lol.

    Wut?

Of those 11 posts, I mentioned buying beer multiple times. My first post was asking if anyone wanted to watch the people going into Whole Foods.

Your attempt at trolling is weak.

You still sound butthurt. And whitsend hits the nail on the head. If you don't like it, don't shop there. Pretty cut and dry.

I remember the store on Esplanade in the late 70's early 80's when they were about the only game in town for fresh baked breads and any organic produce at all. A lot of the staff/employees were "old hippies" and wore tie dyed clothing. It seemed everything in the store was fresh and employees took a bit of pride in the store and the products that was lacking at the local A&P or Schwegmann's.
Yeah, the place has changed and the world has too; but for all the pretentious pricks in the store the products are still good quality and decidedly not the "run of the mill" grocery items.
Not that I can afford to shop there, but they do have specialty items on the shelf that no one else does.
