While I think marijuana should not be illegal, I appreciate the consistency within this ruling. The card holders are, despite what the state says, all illegal users of marijuana according to the feds. If they legalized marijuana at the federal level, I think they would have to strike that off the 4473 as card holders would no longer be 'prohibitted persons'.

Nobody is arguing that you should be able to smoke pot at a range. Just like you cant drink or down a bunch of prescribed narcotics there either. There are a lot of different ailments that pot can be used for.. for example... some people suffer from hyper alertness and have to take sleeping pills. Maybe they get a medical card, in a state where its legal, so they can smoke a joint instead. They dont smoke all day, just before bed. They shouldnt be allowed to defend themselves or their family? What about cancer patients on chemotherapy that need to smoke before they can het a meal down? Just because you have a prescription for it doenst mean youre going to be high as a kite at all hours of the day

You know the point about it not being legal federally...
Well the weed growing program at Ole Miss is federally funded and federally regulated. Another words its a federal program so even the federal government recognises the benefits of pot.

They also see the benefit of keeping it illegal. One of those benefits, in this case, means they can take your guns.

And the only reason it is still currently illegal is their are too many people who have bought into McGruff the Crime Dog and other bs propoganda.

No, they shouldn't be playing with guns.

If you go to the shooting range and the people next to you are smoking weed, are you going to stay there?

Most would not argue with limiting peoples ability to carry or use a gun under the influence. But you seem to be arguing that they should not be able to own a gun which is different.

There are a lot of uninformed people that put Marijuana in the same boat with other illegal drugs and because of this, we have a lot of people that think it's OK for legitimate users of MJ to have their rights taken from them.

I have to say that even if I had a legitimate medical reason to get a medical Marijuana card, even before this, I would not get it just because of this reason. I would buy it myself. Same goes for anti depressants. I would not want any of that on my medical record because of this exact issue.

I have friends that live in colorado now and my understanding is that anyone can buy at a dispensary. The card just makes it cheaper. Cheaper srill if you just buy from a person who is legally selling it to you as your "care taker"
