I was in the local gun store a couple of days ago... an older gentleman was shopping and milling around. Before he left he asked someone behind the counter if they would like some Trump yard signs. To which, they said "Sure, I'll put it in my lawn!".

Now, the problem to me was how the guy asked... he almost whispered it... like voting for Trump was a bad or Taboo thing even in a store that DIRECTLY has a vested interest in getting Trump elected vs. Hillary.

I've been in the store a few times over the last month, and customers even walk up to the counter and make comments like "Now's the time to buy before Hillary gets in office!"... or "When Hillary gets elected, I guess you guys won't be busy much."

It's unbelievable... it's almost as if they've already given up. Like a "She's going to win so we might as well accept it now" kind-of attitude towards the whole thing in the back of their mind, while pretending to present a strong front and confidence in the future. Why feel the need to whisper your support for a candidate? Would you be at a Trump rally and still be hesitant to mention support for him? Or even voice support for the second amendment? I've seen more support for the Saints during CAREER ENDING seasons than I do for the Republican Candidate in this election. But then I guess the presidential candidate supporters can wear bags over their heads too.

Don't even get me started on the propaganda that is being fed to our youth and THEIR support for Hillary without even educating themselves. Or the hypocrisy of some of these "WHY I WOULD NEVER!" comments coming from Professional Athletes and others demonizing Trump for his comments more than a decade ago, which most men I know (can I still use the term man? I mean, does identifying us by MAN or WOMAN divide us?) have engaged in "Locker Room Talk". If anyone outside of any organization of close-knit guys (OR WOMEN, and I've been part of some where WOMEN were just as bad if not WORSE than men at LRT) heard the way everyone talked or degraded each other, constantly made comments about looks, weight, sexual orientation, etc... these "Holier than thou" followers would EXPLODE!! Yet somehow Trumps comments overshadow a woman who has lied, cheated or stolen in every form and somehow STILL avoided prosecution. Now, if that's all they've got, COME ON!! If I were a BILLIONAIRE Playboy?? These same media junkies made Donald Trump into the "Star" that he is today... now they want to turn it around and say "Oh wait, we didn't want him to use the fame he has gotten in that way!". The United States is a Business... Who better to run a Business that a SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN???? Did he HAVE to run??? Not at all... he could have just stayed rich and sat on his Yacht and watched everything unfold and just went about his daily life. If things got hairy, he could jump on his jet and fly to a private island somewhere and go about his daily life... He could have easily said "Well, I got mine, screw everyone else"... he didn't have to step into this shark tank. To me, that says a lot about him.

Do we live by the liberal media now (Or even the media in general)? Do we actually FEED into being censored and manipulated by Facebook, Twitter, Google and more online services that control or dictate our lives in this "Digital Age"? It's like everyone is living out some fantasy part of their life online where everything and anything posted is immediately considered TRUTH, when in recent years past the most common comment was "Oh if it's on the internet it MUST be true" -- Completely sarcastic because it was insane to think it was actually true. So now we have high school students who want to pretend to know about a political agenda because some half-ass sports person or movie star "protests" the national anthem, kneel during it? What happened to direction in these schools or AT HOME?? My dad would have BEAT MY ASS if it got back to him that I didn't stand during the Pledge of Allegiance (then I would have gotten it again because the school would have given me a DETENTION for it!). The sad thing is these kids don't even realize, not only are they destroying the fabric of our nation, but they're actually protesting the very reason they are kneeling in the first place! They protest the National Anthem because they are unhappy about the current state of the United States... yet their defiance to stand and honor those who've sacrificed everything to give them that right REPRESENTS the very downfall of the Nation they are supposedly unhappy with. Soon we will be a nation of the "perceived privileged". I say that because these kids think that they are OWED freedom... that it somehow comes with no strings attached. Well then lets all just join hands and sing "Kumbaya" while the country slowly implodes. While we work one day for free for every three days we are paid so anyone who would like can apply for food stamps and welfare to live off our hard work.

I fear for our country and what has to come. We're already slowly falling away as a "Super Power" and the most powerful country on earth. How can a country that relies on most of any product being sold having one part or another made in other countries? I can't remember the last time I saw a "Made in the U.S.A." sticker on an article of clothing... You can always find it stamped into a pistol or rifle though!! I mean hell, you can go buy an AMERICAN FLAG that is clearly marked "Made in China" on it from Wal-Mart. We've come to accept the mediocre standard of "quality" for everything we buy and have forgotten why "They just don't make them like that anymore".

In closing, I just want to say... don't PRETEND to be a wolf... don't think you can buy a cheap foreign made Wolf Costume and step into it to hide your sheep appearance and then walk around hiding behind whispers and in shadows. Keyboard commandos sit back and are as powerful as Martin Luther King, speaking about STANDING UP and then follow it with a "Yes sir, right away sir!" when they step away from their Second Life behind the mask of their user icon or screen name. The only term our founding fathers or anyone who has helped to make this country great from the beginning would say from today's generation would be WTF???????

My feelings are HC will win and we better work on keeping as many seats as possible to limit her power. I know people that pulled up Trump lawn signs after the 2nd debate because Trump avoided too many questions. My concern is that with all the great people in this country we ended up with these two!
Anytime I'm in a private store and don't know the owners political views I keep political talk down low.

    Well friend,
He probably whispered it because Donald J Trump is an embarrassing figure to throw support behind. He's an easily provoked buffoon who cares and knows shockingly little about the constitution. If you voted for him in the primary, well sorry. But for everyone else, the only reason to vote for him is to keep Hillary out of office. We don't want either of those doing anything as President. Between the two, it comes down to do you want a professional crook, or an amateur one? I'd rather face the amateur. But I'm sure as hell not riding around with a Trump bumper sticker. Douglas Adams pretty much nails it here:
*It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."
"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"
"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like so straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford. "It is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"
    "What?"
"I said," said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, "have you got any gin?"
"I'll look. Tell me about the lizards."
    Ford shrugged again.
"Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happenned to them," he said. "They're completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone's got to say it."
    "But that's terrible," said Arthur.
"Listen, bud," said Ford, "if I had one Altairian dollar for every time I heard one bit of the Universe look at another bit of the Universe and say 'That's terrible' I wouldn't be sitting here like a lemon looking for a gin.*

I've just been telling people I'm not voting for Hillary. Then they usually ask so you support Trump? I tell them no and say again that I'm just not voting for Hillary and that I don't like either of them...

I look at it this way; she's pure evil and he's a dangerous buffoon.
Oh what great choices we've got...
The question I keep asking myself, is how can the greatest nation in existence be this stupid. And the answer that keeps coming to mind is:
"We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid."

lol. I would wear that bag.

Not me I'm not ashamed to vote for Trump. I have reconciled it in my mind. I am and always will be a constitutional conservative and every election cycle I hold my nose and vote for at least one dirtbag I wish I didn't have to. With the exception of the previous governors race (I withheld my vote). I regret that choice. I trusted Louisiana to not be so stupid as to vote a commi-crat dressed up to look like a blue dog into the governors mansion, and I was wrong. Would Vitor have been better likely not by much but every little bit counts.

I don't get too deep into politics mostly because its usually pretty easy to figure out who I don't want to be president. But all I ever hear negative about trump is, "he's a bafoon", "I don't like him", "he says mean things"... and other petty stuff. I'm not one to show support for much of anything, whether its politcal, sports, or whatever, but I don't see why Trump is such a bad choice for president. From the little bit I know I think he would do a good job. Why do some of yall think he would make a bad pres?

I think many people in General have come to expect the worst. Somehow it helps them deal with the times we live in. I've never been one to settle for something I don't care for, but have no difficulty biting the bullet when it comes to difficult choices. I will go with the lesser of the evils, but I will never throw my hands up and say "screw it". That's called quitting. No one has ever heard me say, "I've lost" before the game is over. I've never said Hillary is going to be our next POTUS because I haven't given up. I know what it would it would mean if she wins and I'm prepared to deal with the day if it comes but I will not usher it in out of hopelessness. Her bought and paid for media has worked hard to make people feel she has won already. Those who oppose her, but also have the "might as well accept it" attitude have already been duped. When listening to people talk about the election, I sometimes hear one say "Hillary's gonna win". At that point, for me, the conversation's over.

I don't care how much I dislike Trump as Clinton is a dangerous, conniving snake in the grass.

Its time for a reality check and take stock of what is actionable. A Trump victory is a long shot at this point. Might as well fight to the end but it is time to make contingency plans.

It will take big money to campaigns and advocacy groups and in the trenches volunteer work to keep the house and possibly the senate against Clinton's anti gun agenda. If we all divert a fraction of the money and time spent on guns and ammo towards helping (re)elect friendly elected officials and keeping executive actions tied up in the courts through litigation we can successfully do damage control to Clinton's presidency.

The Supreme Court nominations is the Achilles heel so lets hope and pray for shrewd attorneys staying clear of risking unfavorable judgements. We should expect to see the lower courts continue to ignore the Heller decision. This is not much of a problem in Louisiana but, like cancer, it can metastasize (eg. become federal law) and spread from infected states.

How different would this election be if Cruz, Rubio or Kasich would have won the Republican primary? In the primary, I voted for who I thought had the best chance of beating Hillary. I will vote Trump as the lesser of two evils. Kinda like the governors election between Edwin Edwards and David Duke. We are screwed either way. Whichever wins will have a hard time getting anything passed through congress.
