Man. I don't expect responses back for 24 hours lol. But I try to respond quickly. The seller must be selling some good stuff cheap if you are that upset

My typical routine in the mornings is to browse/post to a forum and then move on, usually to another forum or to read the news or to view email, and when I've finished my coffee to get on with the day. I might get a chance to get online for casual reading/browsing around lunch, but more than likely it'll be at least the evening before I'm back to reading posts again. Life is too short to hang around waiting for a response to a post. 40 minutes is unrealistic, and I'd even consider 4 hours as unrealistic. As others have said, 24 hours might be more appropriate.

I don't live my life with my face stuck in my phone . I don't look at my phone for hours sometimes unless I get a call or text . I don't expect anything more from others . People have a life . I get it .

Maybe if the seller posted a specific time frame for contact in the add it might be helpful.......... When someone tells me it will be a minute before they can help me I will reply that "I am putting you on the clock while looking at my watch". A minute is a definate measure of time where as a "moment" is not a specific measure of time. ............................................... drill sgt.

Oh dang. I guess I’m doing it wrong, but there’s just no way for me to be that attentive to an ad I’ve placed on a forum. I always check in within a 24 hour period, usually a few times a day when I’m selling something, but I’m a working man with a family of 5 and way way more to do than play on my phone every few minutes.

There you go man, Less time on top the old lady means more time on here buying and selling in 40 minutes or less.....

I got one for you. I was selling something on another forum and a guy posted he wanted it. I sent him all of my info for payment etc. Several hours go by and no response so I posted on my ad and sent another message. He didn’t respond so after several hours of waiting I moved to the next seller. Boy what a mistake that was. Apparently posting that you want it is a binding contract and my only recourse was to send him the item even if I had to buy a new one or be banned. Well I’m now banned. If I have something for sale I check my email or the forum regularly. If you can’t do that then you should post what times you can be reached and respond promptly during those times.

Seems kinda like prices. If the price is too high or you don't get the service/response you expect from the seller/buyer, maybe just go on to the next thing. But I also get that this is an open-ish forum and it's a legit topic to talk about.

Maybe OP didn't think about everyone not looking at their phones all the time or that it may look like the seller is online when his browser is open to BS but he is away from his computer for relatively long periods of time. Probably looks like I am always active on here, but I usually have the page open and just refresh when I walk past my computer.

Dang Motor, that’s aggravating. They’d just have to ban me as well before I bend that far. I try to be as patient and understanding as possible regardless who’s selling but I have my limits like everyone else.

He really wouldn't have survived in the old days of newspaper ads and dial telephones and mail in orders to sellers delivered by train.

It can be just as annoying when somebody posts a Want To Buy and then doesn't respond to your reply . Are they to be held to the same standard ?
