Hi guys,
I'm visiting family in Lafayette for Thanksgiving. I've kept this rifle here in Louisiana for 10 years. It's been rarely used and is in great shape. I don't have any reason to keep it and my step dad could use the space in his safe.
Because I'm a Hawaii resident this will have to go...
Hi, I'm a Hawaii resident (originally from LA) and have a 22 rifle that I kept here in Louisiana. (The gun was originally registered in Hawaii.)
I'm visiting family here in LA and I'd like to sell the gun while I'm in town.
Since I'm a Hawaii resident, do I need to go through a FFL to sell...
I bought a used one like this for our local matches and it served me well out here in Hawaii. Surprised to see a new one for sale:

Dustin, I think I bought the Air Arms from you quite a few years ago. It's been an awesome airgun and shooting that...
I’d get an older no lock, 6 round 686 and send it to Clark Custom or other quality gun revolver smith for a good trigger job. And I’d have them change out the front sight to a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. Then I’d put a Bowen Arms rear sight on it, change out the grips and call it...
Fiber optic sights can be a very nice upgrade. For pure target shooting I still prefer a black Patridge style sight. I do find that the fiber optic sights seem to hold my attention better if I've been shooting a long time and start to lose concentration.
I think the best fiber optic sights...
My 686 is consistently accurate with many loads.
Here's some 50 yard groups. Some are under 2 inches.
These little guys get it done at 25 yards.
These seem to do real well with Blazer aluminum ammo at 25 yards. I was sighting in the adjustable sights...not shooting 5 shot groups...
For a 45 I'm very impressed with my Cajun Gun Works CZ 97b. Got a 2" group at 50 yards on a rest.
If I wanted and accurate 45 I'd order a custom 1911 from Clark Custom.
But for the price the CZ is hard to beat. The trigger is just as good as a tuned 1911.
For a new shooter I would suggest...
Get it and send it to Clark Custom for a duty trigger job and have them install a .100 or .110 wide Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. Add a pair of Hogue Monogrips and you will have the ultimate 4" .357 mag revolver.
Do it to it!
Thanks, air guns are a lot of fun.
These guys know a lot about airguns and can shoooooot.

I think one of the best airgun silhouette shooters may live around Baton Rouge....may be wrong.
Check it out....lot's of fun.

That one had a trigger job too and it was very clean.
Don't they make the new R7's in China. I'm not positive but I think I heard that and the quality is not the same as the old German one...
Later,

I was back in Louisiana for Christmas and gave this old (1980's) Beeman R7 to my dad. It had been tuned by a guy known as "John in PA" and he installed a Vortek spring kit and did a trigger job. The R7 is an accurate, easy cocking, highly regarded rifle. It's not made for power...more a...
