I prefer to use a 22 lr but when I moved to the Ft Polk area and hunt there I use the 22 magnum with both FMJ and Hollow point, standard Winchester loads in a Marlin 25.
The reason is Hogs I run into them many times and kill them clean with the 22 magnum up to 300 pounds. The FMJ kills squirrel...
Funny thing about it when we had the ammo shortage you couldn't get 30-06 but there were plenty of 325 WSM because nobody had the rifle. Two out of three stores in Leesville carry 325 WSM no problem. I can also get all I want from Cabellas. Admittedly I dont need to stockpile thousands of rounds...
Although it most likely will not be that popular the 325 WSM will do everything with one bullet weight 220 grains. Felt recoil is about the same as a 30-06 with 165 grain bullet. It is great on deer Ive taken 6 with it so far all DRT.
Well in order to test some of my theory I became a striking coach at a very good MMA School. As suspected they had an excellent "Ground Game" of BJJ, many had good boxing skills as well, but in this case something was missing. It was the kicks. They have a Mauy Thia instructor who trained in...
Of course you like it, it is well run, Ive been a little off my game lately so not much shooting getting done but I've helped run that range and events for 20 years.
I must say that there is a proclivity for AK shooters to get a little wild. But that is why we have range masters that watch...
OK sorry guys didn't know you were that lacking of a sense of humor over 8 million have been rick rolled I personally got King Fahd but you dont know him....
Use anything that works real simple. I'm supposed to be an old master and tell you things like that, but if you want to see a real test of character for martial artist this is it. If you you can take it you might not dish it out...osss

Wow, please tell me those were not the only pics you took because it would make a really nice outdoor article. The buck deserves a better photo and you do too. Looks like a B&C very rare in Louisiana, if you want an article at foremosthunting.com let me know.
Pick the place you want to hunt...such as Clear Creek WMA. Read the rules for the separate area. At this time for instance you can not hunt wild hogs there but you can on nearby Ft Polk WMA. There are specifics in each area. Pretty simple you just read and comprehend. Hunting dates are different...
I like my Ole Man climber but sometimes I like just walking them up and I have killed my biggest bucks this way. Just dont do it on the weekends, during the week days you wont see very many hunters.
The one bullet I wish they would bring back is the Winchester Silvertip for the standard rifles I use for deer hunting. Of the 137 deer Ive taken I can only recal recovering 3 bullets other than a few buckshot pellets. A 30-30 170 grain Silvertip at 9 yards, a 284 Winchester 150 grain Power...
That's the Savage/Stevens 24 along with the Savage 99 Lever action they were discontinued and that was not a good idea....
Before the National Wild Turkey Federation, that dictated how we will hunt turkey, the 24 was advertised as the perfect turkey gun.
The one I had was extremely...
There are good deer rifles and bad deer rifles, short range deer rifles and long range deer rifles, light ones heavy ones scoped ones and ironsigted ones, tricked out ones and simple ones ....but there aint no perfect one...sometimes you get close.
Given the many Louisiana hunting condition I have yet to see when this gun would not be my first choice. It is very accurate matching my 700 Remington in 30-06, you would love this rig believe me everyone does, even the Dog Hunters.
OK well a membership is not required to read the articles and it is only 2 years old so we are doing just fine. Plus there is more than one website. Never the less ill manners get you no where, only lending more problems. When Mitsubishi wanted to put a plant near Shreveport a few years ago the...
