Thanks, I did see on another forum, that sometimes the bump on the hammer needs to be slightly honed for better contact. Didn't particularly want to do that. I'm about to put some different grips on and while I have it apart I'll make sure everything is clean around the transfer bar, etc. -

You did the right thing! I love Sherbourne myself and have run into the same issues. I'm an RSO as well. I know this may sound silly, but cheap guitars ( especially acoustic) are very difficult to play and will discourage a beginner trying to learn chord formations.
