Assuming the state of sale is LA, in essence it breaks down to the following: Handguns - FTF only to a resident of LA. Even Gun Shops will not sell handguns to an out of state resident.       Yep. Any chemical strong enough to remove the cosmoline will strip the finish. Only way to remove cosmoline without damage to finish is by "sweating" it out with heat. But who'd want to keep the original finish on anyways? I sure didn't. Finished mine with some colonial maple stain from Home...
