There used to be one at the foot of the Huey P. Long on the Westbank side, but it disappeared years ago.If there is a Jeep junkyard in the Greater New Orleans Area, I'd sure like to take a stroll thru it
You have to go into the first door. That's the Bakery area, where they sell bread, sandwiches, and desserts. The second door is the sit down restaurant. They also have the best pecan pies I've ever tasted.
I'm a milsurp purist. There's nothing quite like an AK or an SKS dressed in the wood it was born in. I love the CZ82 and the P64 in their military configuration. My Yugo Tokarev will stay the same way that I purchased it. My Mosin Nagant will never be "Bubba" modified. My SGL21 is the only AK...
You need to hit up the local pawn shops. I've found some great deals on firearms, just stopping at any pawn shop I see, while I'm cruisin around the city. You'd be surprised at what people will pawn off when they need cash.
Kim Ahn Noodle House in Harahan has a delicious Bahn Mi. Dong Phoung's, in the East, has the best in town with the biggest selection of sandwiches. It's worth the trip to NOLA East to get some of the best French Bread in New Orleans and a tasty Bahn Mi.
If you need help mounting a receiver hitch, I'd be glad to help. You could take some measurements and go to the pic-a-part yard on Peters Rd. across from Boomtown Casino. You could get something close enough to cut and reweld for really cheap. I work for a metal shop in NOLA East. I have access...
Walker's BBQ ,on Hayne Blvd, in New Orleans East, is about as good as it gets. They are right next to Castnet Seafood, which is pretty good, too. I think they share the same dining room. I think Walker's has a booth at Jazz Fest every year.
Fiesta Latina on Airline, just past Williams, on the way to the airport. It's a little "hole in the wall" place. They have the best Carne Asada tacos in town. It used to be the old Rexell Drugstore in the 60's, 70's, and early 80's. Tacos El Gordo has some great Mexican food, in Kenner on...
My olé lady drives a 2014 Grand Cherokee 4x4 with the HEMI. My toy is a 79 CJ7 that I bought when I lived in Las Vegas. It's not restored, but not rotted out. It has that "desert patina" look, but is actually in great condition. It has a straight 6, with a T18 and Dana 20, at the moment, but...
Even without the possibility of bursting into flames, it seems like a good way to do a face plant. No way would I stay upright, if I stepped on one of those things. Murphy and his cruel laws would make sure pain was involved.
Desi Vega's Steakhouse has the best ribeye I've ever paid for, in a restaurant. Desi also took over Phil's Grill in Harahan and has some of the best burgers in town.
Thursday night is steak night at St.Rose Driving Range. I remember the steak being pretty good for the price. It's a cool spot to have some drinks and practice your golf swing, too. You can even bring the kids, as long as you don't mind eating outside. There are tables inside of the smoky bar...
I don't waste my hard earned money on Hollywood. I haven't been to a movie in years. I need Hollywood types about as much as I need another hole in my ass. They are, mostly, worthless liberals, who are out of touch with reality. I'd rather spend my cash on ammo
That's a beautiful pistol. It seems to be in great shape for it's age. I like the patina it has earned through the years. Thanks for sharing this piece of history.
