Guess I planned ahead so I don't have to "panic" buy now. It's called foresight.

Sounds like that lesson on "common sense" that your father taught you paid off...

I like the way you think...

Why not just start a panhandling thread. Then you can just beg for $50 cash times the number of mags you want from the other members. Then pay the inflated price.

    Sounds the same.

I had a friend ask me this week if I would sell him a dozen AR mags as he only had two or three and I had "plenty". I flat out told him "no thanks". He got pissy and said "what if I cant get anymore?". Sorry bro, I love you and all but when you were spending money on big screen TV's and an upgraded stereo for your truck I was buying this stuff. Dont think just because your priorities changed in light of the current scare that I'm willing to give you what I planned ahead for. I'm not buying into the "scare" or anything but as far as I know I may never be able to get more, at least not at the $9.00 a mag price I paid (and he wanted me to sell them at). I pointed him in the direction on Gunbroker. He was pissed that I wasnt being a "good friend". I was pissed that he was trying to low ball me and guilt me into giving in. Oh well.

I had the same thing happen twice since this latest stuff happened. I agree 100%. I basically told them both that "the door of the ark was closed." They didn't like it much but they ain't getting any free rides on me.

I was thinking more along the lines of an Obama Bullets program. It worked well with cell phones. I filed an online petition and expect it to be a law in a matter of days.

JR1572....gotta agree. I've noticed a disturbing amount of liberal thinking/attitude creeping into a freedom loving community recently, too.

Windsorfox....I was sorry to see the change in marketplace rules, because I learned a lot about what to look for in prospective purchases. What are the important questions, what to look for, features and peculiarities of various models, etc. But, criminy, Admin must have had a crystal ball to foresee this happening. Kudos to them.

There are a lot of facets to this issue, to the point where calling it "stupid immoral gouging" or "free market economy" (and then passing judgement on people over which way they see it) is silly.

If you bought more rifles, mags and ammo than you needed before the insanity with the intention of turning a profit... That's an investment, and a gamble. I salute you, urge you to hurry up and make your coin before the dust settles, and wish you luck with the IRS. Those are capital gains, after all.

If you held off on getting as much as you need to "survive the mythical SHTF" scenario, and now feel the panic... Wow. You're lucky it's just a buying frenzy and not something worse. If this were a real emergency, the stuff wouldn't be available to you AT ALL. With the alleged EOTWAWKI deadline having expired yesterday, you had ample warning-- be ashamed.

If you're buying up more ammo and primers than you could use in 10 years of regular shooting (with no plans to resell), I laugh at all of the capital you've needlessly tied up. An outright ban is as unlikely as your ability to use all of that up in the aforementioned SHTF scenario-- and both render your supply more of a liability than an asset. Assuming prices don't fall for a year or two, as little of it as you'll go through will have actually cost you money when compared to how much you could have made (or enjoyed otherwise) by spending the difference elsewhere. And when all is said and done, despite all of the shooting you could (SHOULD) have been doing, you'll still suck at it in 6 months when the hubbub has ended.

Those very few, ever near and dear to my heart, who would have had to drop 5 figures before the craze to truly "be prepared" (in ammo terms) for what they would have expended in classes/training/practice this year are the only ones with any reason to validly gripe. Without tax dollars and government contracts, that takes a rather affluent person to manage-- especially at Christmas time. Trust me when I say that I feel your pain, and will gladly do whatever I can to hook you up when the need is most dire. You've got your rifles/pistols, you've got your mags, you've got your SHTF emergency ammo, and you've probably got 3-4 months of training supply on hand. When that gets burned up, give a shout-- I will have something in the works by then.

NOTE-- That offer extends to any and everyone who is serious about improving their skills, even if they are late to the game or simply can't afford to burn up lots of rounds in the pursuit. I assure you two things-- I'm not the only one around here who will lend a helping hand, and the lot of us all started from scratch at some point!

I will readily admit that Sugarbug has posted some worthwhile comments on this board. But not in this thread.

No offense to SB , but your comment (copied above) contains more wisdom than everything he has posted so far.

Epic thread. People can absolutely ask and get whatever they can for what they have. However I do find it irritating that all of these new members are popping up only to list things at jacked prices. I don't think they should be banned or anything but you'll notice that the more active community oriented members are not doing this. The best thing to do is just ignore them.

I guess in hind sight, this would be the best thing to do to try and teach them a lesson, BUT somebody will come along and buy their stuff for these ridiculous prices. So in the end they still win. I think it's stupid to take advantage of the situation, but you know what, I don't need their ****, so they can rot in hell before I would ever buy, help or befriend them. I know who my friends are on this board and I will chose wisely on any future friends. Good day.

Not a crystal ball, we're just in on the conspiracy. If you watch the Batman movie in reverse on VHS you can hear Alfred say "Bayou Shooter" kinda.

It is very hard for me put into words what gouging means to me. But gouging is like hardcore porn: I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.

I think members should be allowed to come on this forum and gouge the **** out of people, it's a free country. But I am making a mental list and won't be doing business with them anymore....you know....free country and all that.

And I'm cool with that, but bitching about it is a whole other story

I read in a different thread that a Walmart not far from my house had 5.56 ammo at pre crazy price. So I jumped in th car took a little trip to snatch it all up with the full intention of selling it all at 1,000,000X what I paid for it. But it seems someone else beat me to it. They did have some 223 for 20.00 for 20 rounds but I did not want to pay that much as the margins were not as appealing. So it seemed like a wasted trip, until I remember I need andouille from Jacobs in LaPlace. I bought the last 4 links with a line out the door. I offered to sell it to them at 1,000,000X what I paid for it but no takers. So I didn't get rich but I did get andouille for my gumbo

Bitching is ok by me too as long as it isn't painfully redundant, though putting the offending members in your sig line and attempting to ostracize them here is going to far.

What about those bitching about the bitchers?:dogkeke:

I guess you missed his sig, mine is pretty much a copy paste of his, but since he took his down I guess I'll take down mine.
