    Baton Rouge... Mostly
I'll be heading Over there a week from today after I take a business trip to Ky.

FINALLY getting the road put in, having an issue with the building... But at least I'll be able to park my airstream out there!

Ticks are a localized thing... Some areas are more susceptible than others. (like arkansas, I have also noticed)
    Fortunately, not my area.

    Random shots.

Someone stole my ax, shovel and wheelbarrow, so I dug out this little spring by hand.

I'm sitting here tethering my phone, finishing up some supplemental claims while I spend money faster than I can make it! (Spent over $1K yesterday in gravel and dozer work.)

It's in the 60's, with the nearly constant breeze (On the Mtn top) I had to get out of the shade earlier because it was too cool. Middle of the day and it's still comfortable.
    I think I chose well.

Wednesday I'll probably move the airstream to my property, given allowances for the weather.
Tomorrow I plan to float down the river in my kayak.

Need to contrive an elevated water tank....

Well, the tank won't be elevated as I found a NEW 1500 gal water tank for under $700!

I bout the parts to build a RAM pump today, I'll be trying to get the water up from a spring 150-175 ft down the mtn side...

Its got a run of about 500, and should deliver ~170 gal/ day with no electricity...but it's right at the limits of what a ram pump will do, so might take some playing.

I hope to have civilization mid next week (have cell phone tethered Internet, hooked into the septic, solar (new panels on the way) and the geny... Running water will be the last step!

I haven't ever heard of such a thing. I watched a couple of youtube videos on them, and wow, what interesting machines.

I've gotten a couple comments about this/my land. I'll put up a couple pictures of my building.

It's a40x40x16 metal building. I'll enclose one side as guest quarters, and put in an upstairs. I've got 12x12 garage doors opposing one another so I can pull the airstream through, and a 11 foot overhand for a porch.

Oh, and people have been asking about deer hunting... Well I just stepped outside to water my garden, and I scared a white tail. 30 yards from my airstream, and 50 from the building.

I think I'll just open a window come hunting season!!!!!
