I blame Obama.

Seriously. People were so much cooler when Bush was prez. Since Obama took office, everyone has lost their friggin' minds freaking out about things that never happen and everyone is out to get them. When people are mad at the government, it is often taken out on local law enforcement, as they are really the only accessible "representative" of the government. Call it misdirected anger if you will.

Seriously though, we complain about unfair taxes on here all the time, but I would be on board with a stupid tax. We could tax anyone who can't use a seatbelt, identify their left and right sides, or tell time using a standard clock, tax would double if you were unable to read a digital clock.

It's a gun forum full of Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, First-World-Anarchists, or some mmix of the above. When GWB was president, the places I frequented that were as liberal leaning as this place is 'conservative' leaning, were all up in arms and crying and whining and calling for tyranny. It's just the game of opposites the Ivory Tower keeps we people engaged in.


To people complaining about the fact that threads are about everything /but/ guns - this is Off Topic... therefore by definition it's going to be any topic BUT guns/ammo/shooting/hunting/optics/law/news/marketplacestuff. Don't go to Off Topic maybe? Or plead to the mods to erase the 'off topic' or something, if it's a stain on the site. (I'd 50/50 on that one, really)
