lol, there ya go Jay.
I guess some people just think "biker" no matter the motorcyclist. Never thought of myself as a "biker" though. I mean, I can't imagine myself showing up at the track or a bikenight dressed in hog leathers and toting a wallet chain..
And if it's all ego I guess I missed that part. All this time I thought I was riding for the sheer pleasure. Yep, that and because I can do anything I want on my motorcycle.

What's your opinion of LOUISIANA Bikers splitting traffic?
Being that it is unlawful(In Louisiana) to do as well.

I've always thought about getting a motorcycle but I now realize I have no where near the emotional capacity to join such a elite few.
.
Has anyone ever been stuck in traffic for two hours on a bike geared up in 100 % humidity and 98 degrees? I have, and splitting lanes is the safer option than having a heat stroke while the people in their cars sit in the AC and bitch about us getting ahead of them. Cagers are usually the idiots. I try to be responsible while riding, but the best way not to get run over is to simply not be there. In other words you should alway move faster than traffic while on a bike. Works for me. Oh, and you should always get about a cool million in life insurance if you have a family and want to take risks like motorcycling or bungee jumping or skydiving or weekending in the greater NOLA area. You know the things that might get you killed.

If its legal to do that then I don't see y not i guess thats the advantage of having a motorbike.still dangerous though.
I got stuck in traffic trying to get out of san antonio texas, in a 1973 plymouth duster. It was august and I just had the windows tinted, so I couldn't roll them down. I really thought I was going to die lolHas anyone ever been stuck in traffic for two hours on a bike geared up in 100 % humidity and 98 degrees? I could be broke down on the shoulder, and still be cooler in that car . These guys on the crotch rockets cant match classic american muscle. You should have Lane Split....or at least got on the shoulder and passed everyone up while staying cooler(Both in Temprature and Status)
Ride in the heat is what you said. Not sit in the heat. Two totally different things. When riding I stay cool enough to be on the road. Sitting on the asphalt for two hours is not in your words "Riding" This is how I see your knowledge base and this is not an insult Hitman...Nutrition knowledge yes...gun knowledge somewhat...motorcycle knowledge...not so much. Riding a Harley and owning an absolute piece of crap Katana is like shooting a Nagant and owning a Hi Point. Experience with those two weapons wouldn't make you much of a gun expert would it? That's how you are viewed after displaying what you have experience riding in the motorcycle world. You've only scratched the surface of riding and all that is required to really ride a motorcycle. Feeling the suspension do its job when correctly set. Seeing tires that grip you and your bike at max lean angle on a patch of rubber the width of your finger all while dragging your knee puck for feel. Catching a tank slapper when you make a mistake and unload the suspension at speed. Getting on a bike and at the end of the day you have 800 more miles on the odometer than when you started. What I am really trying to get at is if you haven't really ever riden a bike, not comuted but really riden, then your opinion doesn't matter to me. I am not an elitist when refering to motorcycles, I just put myself in a position when riding to know as much as possible about the machine I am riding and what it can and can not do before I throw my leg over it, and risk my life with people texting while driving and playing with the radio yada yada yada they ain't paying attention. Splitting lanes is no more illegal than you driving 1 mile over the posted speed limit and everybody has done that so you are all dangerous LOL.
I think youre confusing riding, with trying to be a street racer...Ride in the heat is what you said. Not sit in the heat. Two totally different things. A crime doesn't imply dangerous. If I smoke pot in my living room I'm far less dangerous to others than riding like I'm special.I am not an elitist when refering to motorcycles, I just put myself in a position when riding to know as much as possible about the machine I am riding and what it can and can not do before I throw my leg over it, and risk my life with people texting while driving and playing with the radio yada yada yada they ain't paying attention. That is my point though, I cant find a reason to do it. I agree with you that bikers realize the danger in riding, but their actions effect other people. If we were debating wearing seatbelts, I would agree with your point entirely, but if I'm not wearing a seatbelt and fly out through the windshield, it doesn't really effect anyone else. If it has no real benefits and it puts other people in danger, it shouldn't be done.
That is odd, because I thought you said you've been brake checked. Its hard to brake check someone who isn't following too close. I'm so confused by your posts in this thread. The whole being brake checked, but never following close, throwing pennies, but never throwing pennies, I'm not a criminal but I disobey traffic laws and vandalize property. I dunno, I guess I'm just really confused at this point.
Fairness is a part of it, everyone is supposed to be equal and nobody should have special privileges. But to me, the crux of the matter is that it is un-safe... Those yellow lines I'm riding between are my margin of error, they're my comfort zone, you have no place next to my vehicle within those lines. When you split traffic, you're adding risk to myself and my loved ones in the vehicle. After you pass me, you're risking other peoples' safety and my time if I have to wait for your accident to be cleared. Bottom line is that rules are there for a reason, if everyone followed them the world would be a better place.
. This is how I see your knowledge base ......

What ever makes you happy buttercup, but I've come up on people to pass between them and a car riding adjacent in the left lane and when they noticed me coming they would hit the brakes trying to stop me from passingllike I said it is what it isn't and they all are going to keep doing what they're doing and I'll keep doing what I do. I'm thinking about turning the 929 into a dedicated track bike and leaving the streets alone, I ve done theodds long enough. But when one of those ego tistical drivers rage out and actually kill someone on a scooter I hope they go jailing enough to get a cockmeat sandwich and they can sit back and ask themselves was it really worth not letting him pass.
Good night assholes
