Appreciate the update! Was worried about access due to flooding, as I'm planning a trip out there this coming weekend.
I also tried to call last week around 9am and no answer.
+100 on the Sawyer filters. The mini is $20 and can be used as a straw amongst other uses. I have the larger Squeeze model and two of the mini's and they all perform great.
I looked at the lifestraw when I shopped around but I'm finding the sawyers hard to beat.
So long as you backflush...
I find myself re-reading A. American's series Going Home. Picked up The End to take to work with me, as well as Lights out and One Second After.
The Arisen series are decent, and cheap on my Kindle. Highly recommend the Going Home series
Agreed, besides my esbit stove my other go to is a penny stove, or a variation of a swedish volcano stove made from a single coke can. Rolling boil of 16oz of faucet water in 5.5 min and only uses between an ounce or two of fuel. I carry 8oz in a flask and another 4 oz in a small squirt bottle...
Been to the TPSO range a couple of times with the dad in law, wasn't crowded either time . Heading there hopefully Saturday , gotta test out some new mags and just plain ol practice :)
Called last week, packet mailed in 1/29 for renewal, moved first weekend in Feb although I'd called prior to mailing my packet for instructions on which address to use. Was told to use old address on paperwork, then go online and do the change of address form so their database was up to date...
Delivery confirmation for my renewal packet was 1/31, Called last week of Feb. and they said it wasn't in the system yet. Called back two weeks ago and it was "processing". Going on 8 weeks and I hope it arrives soon, my old one expired on 3/11. When I initially called prior to my renewal...
Agreed :) My system is no where near as extensive however I recently started upgrading some items in my GHB's and BOB's, saving weight and re-organizing them in a more logical way. Seems the more uncertain things seem and the more I learn from this and several other forums in addition to field...
Went at about 3pm Sunday, walked right in, wasn't too crowded. Helped a friend of my wifes shop for a handgun, she ended up liking and purchasing 1 of 2 LCP's and some ammo. American Eagle 9mm ball was $23 (ouch!) and some critical defense Hornady for $30. Chatted with s few regulars that I...
We've home-schooled our 3 kids (17, 14, & 5) and have addressed the typical socialization question/concern by regular interaction with their youth groups at church, local C.H.E.F events and field trips, as well as developing whatever their interests are at the time i.e. martial arts, city...
Pretty good turnout judging from the pics and the news story, esp. for such a short lead time. Now that my CHP renewal is taken care of (had to attend on the 19th), I'll make turns to be at the next one for sure! Hope to see a couple of thousand at the next rally, that would be great!
Hey Mike! Glad to hear work's still steady for ya . We found a house on Rena Dr. :) My dad and I just went to our CHP class, mine's a renewal , and had a good time. Man, I haven't played airsoft in over a year, I shut down OWS , just no more time for OWS but I retained enough ammo and gear...
Just got my first SOG(Trident TiNi ) for my birthday recently(thanks to my wife :) . Solid lockup, lightweight and fast opening. I love the deep carry pocket clip, really can't tell there's a 3.75" bladed knife hanging out in my pocket. My friend uses his Aegis everyday at work(oilfield...
