Well I have now seen the video of the shooting and he was the only one that got out of the vehicle and walked out with hands up. While the officers were giving him instructions he takes his hands down and goes in his jacket for a gun. My conclusion: bat **** crazy

I suppose they could have started unloading on him as soon as he almost ran over the cop that jumped in the path of his truck at the second roadblock. Just for clarity, it appears the cop bailed on the road block because the thought this douche was going to ram the vehicles. It looks that if there not been that heavy snow bank, the agent may have been run over completely.

I think it's a shame that regular Joe's are sworn to defend the laws of this country, and the departments they work for are required to defend the actions of an overreaching government!

Forgive me if I don't buy the line that he was reaching for a gun...it could be just as probable that he was reacting to being shot...we won't know unless ground-level footage is released with audio.

Let's also remember the FBI/Sheriff originally said they shot LaVoy b/c he was "Charging" the agents....which is CLEARLY a lie...so I'll hold out until ground level footage with audio is released.

Agreed. I dont know at what point an officer goes from "defending rule of law" to being "a puppet to a lawless government," and I'm glad I'm not an officer needing to walk that line. Certainly a tough position to be in.

Again you can't tell for certain. And sliguns isnt attacking you or any officer with that statement. He simply said he is reserving judgement at this time. I would hope as an officer you could do the same. He stumbled and turned he could have been shot first, he could have been reaching for a gun, hell he could have been confused as to who's orders to follow being advanced on and I'm sure shouted and from both directions. Anyone who doesnt want a new body piercing with two officers approaching from multiple angles would do well to drop to their knees and lock their fingers on their head, so that he makes it clear he is no threat. But its not a crime to be an idiot and stumble around trying to figure out who's order to obey.

Hoestly it doesnt look good for that guy he said he wasnt going to jail. He ran off the road barely missing an officer. They already know what he said, they were ready to do battle. In my mind regardless of if he deserved what he got, it was likely to have ended no other way.

Even if this was "suicide by cop" it doesnt guarantee crazy. Commited, misguided, self important, frustrated, had enough, nothing to live for; there are just so many possibilities. Crazy could be one but maybe not. When a soldier dives on a grenade he is doing it for a reason and its usually cause he wants his buddies to survive. In WWI when soldiers "went over the top" they did it for their country. One could say they were crazy, and some may have been. I'm not trying to compare the people just trying to show the idea of being ready to die for a cause doesn't always mean crazy.

Read yesterday that after the shooting he was in possession of a 9mm pistol in his inside left coat pocket. Not picking sides, but if this is true and he was going for it, well then he was dealt with appropriate force. He also made public that he was not going to rot the rest of his life in jail.
