Ahhh...the dead horse....gotcha. Didn't even think to search for the topic. Fixing to head to bed, but will search tomorrow and see if anyone else responds to this.
So, I almost bought a Remington SPS in .308. Almost...been eyeing the SPS Tactical model with the 20" barrel.
Does anyone have an SPS Tactical? And would anyone recommend for or against it? Any strong recommendation against the 20" barrel versus the 26" for distance shots (ie: 500 or so...
Well, I may or may not go, and then I may or may not carry, but that is all depending on if I go or not...wonder if I can take my Glock white water rafting??? Shouldn't be too big an issue, should it???
And I guess peeing in the woods is off-limits too since it's a National Park? So no long hikes because I won't have anywhere to pee...hmmm... :D
Other than that, I suppose I am good to carry on the trails and in my vehicle then from what I see.
I know they just changed the law on carrying in the national parks, but wanted to make sure I am still safe in and around the Smokies when I travel there in the near future. Anyone know of any loopholes in the CCW laws I should beware of in Tennessee and North Carolina? Will be traversing many...
The Louisiana AG wrote a brief stating that open carry is legal only where concealed carry is legal. That rules out churches because they were written as off limits, and now this law does allow it, but only if you have had the "extra" training and the pastors permission....
...so if you are...
I heard it passed and one of the guys that works with me has kept up with it pretty good. You have to have a concealed carry license, have taken an extra tactical pistol course (possibly like an armed security guard course or something of that nature, no specifics on what course as of yet), and...
Good breakdown for someone looking for training...well put.
Just to start it off, anyone looking for some tactical/practical training, check out Brian Hoffner. He is Houston PD, but has been training people (civilians, SWAT, FBI, SpecOps, etc..) for 25 years I think. Comes to Louisiana a few...
I keep the Federal Premium Personal Defense 125gr +P in my 2" airweight. It kicks a bit, but I like the Federal because they have all been consistent through the other calibers I carry as well in performance and reliability.
I'll have the range open by 10am. The sheriff requires us to keep it open from 10-2 each Saturday except for the first Saturday where we hold our match. Just ask for the Range Officer. I'll be there along with probably a few other regular shooters from our club that are RO's as well.
I'm...
It's one thing to discuss the what if with friends in private, and another to discuss the gear one might take if the SHTF on a forum maybe, but detailed plans of where you are going probably isn't the best idea...
Sometimes I think we all get a little too involved and trusting in the...
Wow....didn't even see the part about the other 2 attacks following this one...
This is just gut wrenching...
Imagine the emotions of running on the adrenline high responding to a call to only be ambushed by a mob...thats gotta suck for those guys.
I am getting more and more pissed off the more I think about this....
Horrible freakin' people...Those precious minutes to save someones life will be wasted while they kick back waiting on a police escort since they will obviously not be going in there alone ever again....
Looking for possibly 2-3 NIB stripped AR15 lowers. Would prefer DPMS, Rock River, Armalite, Stag over any others, but will consider the others if there is a huge price difference. Have seen some advertised between $85-110, but looking to pick them up local versus shipping and doing an extra...
And these are the same bastards that will get on the 6 o'clock news crying because they lost everything in their house fire and the fire department was staged just down the street waiting for their police escort...people have no respect for what first responders do the majority of the...
Our banquet is at Trey Yuen in Hammond, but you need to RSVP to Robert. His email address is listed on the TPSA club site through the www.lagator.org website. Come on out, sign up, meet a bunch of new people.
And don't worry about how bad you might or might not shoot. I had to start at the...
I here ya...you say Amite and people go..huh????
G22 is a decent gun. Will always run. If you plan on carrying though, you might want to consider the G23. Its a little easier to conceal. I have a G17 i shoot in production class in our matches, and a 19 I carry which are both 9mm. Started out...
Yep....i'm just a hater of all things with more than 4 legs....gonna be extra careful when i uncover the grill tonight....will be performing a dynamic entry on the grill! Might be a full blown 3 gun match on my back patio if I see another black widow!! :D
You shoot IDPA or IPSC up there? Are you a member of TPSA? We are having our banquet this Saturday night if you need to renew your membership or join the club...
