I think we're a lot closer to experiencing something of this nature in these parts than most would like to admit. The "foundation" is there.

I know what you mean..... how much is enough?

I think it's interesting too how most Academy's
    are more/or less Boot Camps.

So the mentality coming out is more/or less Militarized.

The military is trained that way for a purpose,
    now so are the Police?

Maybe my misunderstanding of the reasons why
is the cause for my questioning of it.

    :dunno:

Perhaps those involved at the top are realizing this country is a primed powder keg and believe a large militarized police force is the best way to stay at the top when things go south. I wonder what the convictions are for these police officers. The us vs. them mentality does wonders for the rationalization of otherwise unacceptable actions. I've always wondered what my own response as military would be if ordered to quell civilian rioting a la 90s LA riots. I'd like to think I have an uncrossable line, but I imagine that line really is quite fluid in the moment.

You can thank these two below for the militarization of modern police forces. They alone showed ALL of America's police where they were vulnerable and unprepared. It did not go unnoticed!

To a hammer, everything resembles a nail.

No **** here^! The last time my hammer (The Ultimate Consumer uses an Estwing; BTW), thought my thumb was the nail, the outcome was terrible!

I like Stossel. He makes a lot of sense on a regular basis! And notice he and "The Douche" Maher, are both singling out No-Knocks.

I can't help but wonder. If the Police Department had evidence like the dash cam footage(if recording) it seems like if it showed a good shoot, they'd have BEEN released that to quell the crowd no?

Not trying to speculate too much
But we've heard ZERO about the shooting
from LE. Nothing. That seems a bit unusual these days.

That's why I think mandating body cameras for all on duty officers would benefit the officers as much as everyone else.

WOW! is all I can say. I just wished they went straight text book, and ticketed everyone riding without a seat belt. Every riding outside of the car, etc. And they rack up all the fines and have to start paying, than they'll get their butts back to work. I know they would have to worry about being mobbed though... sigh, I'm happy we are so far from that mess right now.

The militarization of police.... Is directly linked to the "War on Drugs"... Which is a war waged against Americans.

Ending the drug war is the first step on fixing this country.
