Oh yeah, it's a form letter, didn't mean to imply that he personally responded to me. I just didn't know where he stood on the Chipman nomination given some of his recent votes like impeachment. And of course he could change his vote tomorrow, but I am happy to see that at least for now he says...
I have a Judge Public Defender, the smallest one. It's a great snake gun. I carry it when I'm out in the woods in the summer with a couple #4 shotshells for snakes, then either some buckshot or 45 Colt for bigger critters.
I don't kill non-venomous snakes. In fact, unless a rattlesnake or...
Got this email today from Sen Cassidy's office in response to my email opposing the Chipman nomination. I wasn't sure where he stood on the issue, but glad he opposes it. I knew Kennedy was opposed to it.
I've got a Judge Public Defender, the small one, 5 shot, 2 1/2" chamber. I also have a Blackhawk in 45 with 7.5" barrel. The Judge is great for snakes with #4 shot or buckshot. I do shoot 45LC out of it too. I haven't shot it at the range for accuracy, but it works ok for general plinking. If...
My first deer rifle was a Marlin 336. Still have it. Don’t hunt with it as much as I should since most of my hunting offers some long shot opportunities. Still, I bet 90% of the deer I’ve killed could have been taken with the 30-30.
As far as the scope mounts, yep, many people set up their...
...deer rifle. Seems to me to be the best mix between range, knock down power, and recoil. Probably why it is one of the top selling calibers.
Oh, and I sight mine in at 2* high at 100 and it’s still within the vital zone at 250 or so. So basically you don’t have to worry about hold over out to 250.
Bought my Browning Gold 3 1/2 back in 2000, and it's been a GREAT gun. Tames the recoil of heavy goose and turkey loads but still cycles dove loads. Never had one problem with it.
No experience with the 11-87, so can't comment on it.
I've always wanted in IH built M1, as I grew up running IH farm equipment and my first truck was a 1971 IH Scout. Back when I ordered these it was luck of the draw, they didn't take requests.
Thanks! He loves history, I've gotten him interested in WWII, so it was a big deal for him. He's looked at the rifles many times but this was the first time he worked up the courage to shoot one.
Yeah, it's a shame that the current regime blocked the re-import of these rifles. The Danish...
My son wanted to try his hand at shooting the M1 yesterday. For a 9 year old, I thought he handled it pretty well. It's a 4 million range Springfield, with various parts from an arsenal rebuild. I purchased it from the CMP in 2000 as a Service Grade rifle. Wish I had bought more ammo at the...
I've read some discussions on Glock Talk about this. The general consensus was that they are using less foam in the new boxes which is letting the locks and crap move around during shipment and scratch the finish. Hope they get your guns fixed up.
I have never fired a .44 special, so I can't comment on it at all. But I sure like .45 Colt. In fact I just yesterday picked up a New Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt with the 7.5 in barrel. Man, what a soft shooter. Mine was made in 1975 best that I can tell, has a very crisp trigger, and after...
I have a 19 and a 26 and wouldn't want to part with either. I consider the 19 the "Swiss Army Knife" of pistols, its just good for everything. But the 26 is a good bit easier for me to conceal, and I shoot it about as well now that I'm used to it.
One thing I highly recommend to make the 26...
Exactly. I have a Judge Public Defender for this reason, I sell land and use it when I'm out walking land. .410 #6 shot will shred a snake! I do keep a couple of buckshot shells or 45 Colts in it for hogs, bear, or two-legged critters, but it wouldn't be my go to home defense weapon.
