FYI, I went to Mr. Roy's today to get a knife sharpened. I've never been very good at sharpening, but bought a stone and strop from Mr. Roy, and he gave me a lesson on how to do it. Nice guy.
I went to the Bedico range a couple of weeks ago. If you've been to Tallow Creek, the new range will look very familiar. Long dirt road winding back to the range -- keep going past the goat pen -- with pistol range on one end and rifle on the other. Pretty basic, but it is close to the house...

According to a Wall Street Journal article a couple of weeks ago, battery manufacturing is the biggest user of lead by far. Growing Asian economies (like China) are expected to need ever increasing numbers of batteries. So less lead for the other stuff, like ammo.
I went today. I was shocked at the small crowd. But there was plenty to look at. Ended up buying only a range bag and a Lee press, but I got to take my time and talk to the vendors. Also, beef jerky and candied pecans! They have another show scheduled in April.
