      Hammond BBQ

      I am almost finished with our raffle pit for the Hammond BBQ competition in late March. This years pit is a custom UDS (Ugly Drum smoker). The tickets will be on sale at Alack Culinary in Hammond after Thanksgiving.

      I bought my first shotgun when I was 14 (1980). It is a Stevens 16 Gauge Model 94 Series M single shot. The shell ejector pin broke when I was 18.       Christmas Brisket

      New Smoker

      I am getting close to finishing my new smoker. This is the 2nd one I've built. I didn't get to keep the first one but a week. Then sold. I personalized this one so no-one will try to buy it. Just in case you are wondering who Clyde Morrison is, he was John Wayne's father.

      The story starts with my son blowing the motor in his firebird. A good friend of mine is a mechanic, so let the bartering begin. Its on it's way to sandblasting and new bearings on an old axle. 1 more weekend and then paint \ season. He has a case of ribs ready to break it in.

      The "Big Dog"

      Bucaneer State Park

      We road through Bucaneer on our way home from Gulf Shores yesterday. They have 2 sections open:), with others opening soon. The wavepool is scheduled to re-open next year. I can't wait to make some more memories there!
