Maybe it's just a good ol' boy working there offshore from MS. Maybe he's with that damn prince that keeps emailing me saying I've inherited millions from some dead cousin. This is why I love this site, just enough caution and suspicion.
Hey man just wanted to thank you for the impressive write-up on the shield. I've enjoyed reading your reports since I've joined and I can't tell you how much I've learned reading posts written by people such as yourself. When I joined this forum, I THOUGHT I had a decent knowledge base of...
i did get to go on a rabbit hunt this past year where the shots were 20 feet at the most. more like 10 on the average. one guy had a judge, he had MUCH more success with it than the rest of us, even me with a 28 gauge SxS. nothing swings as easy as a pistol. he tried CC'ing it, didn't like it...
Am I the only one here wondering what's he doing with a P30?!? When I was in school all I could afford was name calling and a black eye. I had to save up to get a Buck pocket knife. Wise choice though, as long as you don't mind people drooling on it. Good luck with your research, I agree with...
In school we were warned of the power of that machine. There was an incident where a kid was in the tube waiting on the tech to start. When the machine kicked on it pulled a O2 tank into the tube and killing the kid. The O2 tank was supposed to be like 10 feet away and chained/secured. FYI.
i second the 30-30 nod. its got little recoil, bullets are pretty cheap, and out to 150 yards its a good round to count on leaving a nice exit hole and have good knockdown power. i like the Leverrevolution by Hornady. i don't reload FYI.
Was wondering if anyone has shot this ammo. Cabelas has it for $10 for 50, i think. The jacket is encased in nylon and it has an aluminum case. The selling point other than price is it's supposed to reduce fouling. Any help would be appreciated. I know it's not a huge difference in price, I was...
I try to stay away from chain stores if possible. For fishing I'll pass on Cabelas and bass pro and go to. Superior Bait on Seigan Lane. That guy stands behind what he sells and actually knows what he is talking about. He spent 10 minutes teaching me how to snell a hook, wouldn't...
I'm no expert by far. But I've seen birdshot, slug, and buckshot in the ER. They all had issues, like profuse bleeding, or bone fragments where there should be a face. At 20' I gotta think even an improved cylinder choke would be plenty. As stated, I'm nowhere near experienced as these guys...
Climbing high will lessen the chance of a deer winding you and will put you further out of their line of sight. I like Ol' Man stands for comfort and safety. I try to get around 20 feet or so, with 30 being the max. If I'm hunting half way up a ridge I'll try to get higher to stay in the...
The woman who has never allowed perception to cause her to disregard reality doesn't draw breath... never has.
LSP- that freaking line had me rolling. Well put. I can't say that I'm innocent either though...
Sweet pics man. Some friends and I are planning a hunt to new Mexico in the next two years or so. I can't remember
the last time I've stretched my .270 beyond 250 yards! Glad you had a good, safe trip.
I was gonna go with the 38-55 over the 45-70 just for the cool factor and less recoil until I found out how hard it was to find ammo. I heard Winchester was the only manufacturer and they only release ammo every three years or so. I've yet to see any other company make the round. It shoots a big...
