G19 or judge?
i did get to go on a rabbit hunt this past year where the shots were 20 feet at the most. more like 10 on the average. one guy had a judge, he had MUCH more success with it than the rest of us, even me with a 28 gauge SxS. nothing swings as easy as a pistol. he tried CC'ing it, didn't like it... -

I'm a 19y/o carrying an H&K P30 in my truck on a college campus
Am I the only one here wondering what's he doing with a P30?!? When I was in school all I could afford was name calling and a black eye. I had to save up to get a Buck pocket knife. MRI causes 1911 to discharge
In school we were warned of the power of that machine. There was an incident where a kid was in the tube waiting on the tech to start. When the machine kicked on it pulled a O2 tank into the tube and killing the kid. The O2 tank was supposed to be like 10 feet away and chained/secured. FYI. -

Smallest caliber for deer?
i second the 30-30 nod. its got little recoil, bullets are pretty cheap, and out to 150 yards its a good round to count on leaving a nice exit hole and have good knockdown power. i like the Leverrevolution by Hornady. i don't reload FYI. -

Any experience with total nylon jacket (tnj) ammo
Was wondering if anyone has shot this ammo. Cabelas has it for $10 for 50, i think. The jacket is encased in nylon and it has an aluminum case. Need some imput guys.
I'm no expert by far. But I've seen birdshot, slug, and buckshot in the ER. They all had issues, like profuse bleeding, or bone fragments where there should be a face. At 20' I gotta think even an improved cylinder choke would be plenty. As stated, I'm nowhere near experienced as these guys... -

Looking to go hunting for the first time

Elk / Mule Deer Hunt - Last Week

I was gonna go with the 38-55 over the 45-70 just for the cool factor and less recoil until I found out how hard it was to find ammo.
