      "Casual" Carry in a Vehicle

I put my pistol into the console cup holder on my 2012 Toyota Tacoma. Two of the cup holders are a soft rubber material, forward of the shift lever, and will hold a smaller type revolver or semi-auto well. Put either my Ruger LCP or S&W Model 60 "J" frame into it. Doesn't work well with larger...

Anyone pocket carry a j frame? If so, what holster do you use?

"J" Frame holster I use an OWB El Paso Saddlery #88 Street Combat holster. Fits tight to the body and holds my pistol well. Comfortable to wear all day.

Advantages of a Parish CCW Permit

The governor has signed HB 98 and it will become effective August 15, 2013. If you have a Parish CCW permit it is not legal for you to carry in any contiguous parish before the following occurs: 1.The effective date of the Act. 2.The Sheriff of each involved parish must sign a reciprocity...

      SP-101 concealed carry?

I've been CCing with a Ruger SP 101, 2 1/4" barrel for the better part of 10 years now. Have it riding in a Galco OWB holster that I bought at Ruger's website. Loaded with 125gr JHP's. For me it's a great CC pistol.

No non-resident CCW permits honored in LA as of today?

From all I've read on this message board over time my understanding is that as of toady, August 15, 2011, all non-resident CCW permits are no longer honored in LA. I know this issue has been hashed out to death but today is THE day. No flames please. Just a simple yes or no will suffice.

Edited due to e-stalking by Vanilla Gorilla

I work for the Fed. Gov't. No firearms/weapons allowed on Gov't property - period. I asked if I could get my own gun locker but was refused. 5 days a week to, from and at work I cannot carry a firearm, even in my vehicle. Some coworkers do carry in their vehicles but I won't take the chance of...

Open Carry question to Shreveport PD

SPD just received a number of mountain bikes from one of the casinos to use in street interdiction. Would hate to to be riding a bicycle with all their gear in this heat. Their response to my question did sound rather like a pat answer and from their legal department. I rarely OC in Shreveport...

Open Carry question to Shreveport PD

Was on SPD's Facebook page and posed the question: What is SPD's take on civilians who open carry with a handgun? I'm talking about people who can legally own a firearm. Their response was: Hello Thomas: As police officers we take an oath to support the Constitution of the United States of...

      odd encounter

Had a neighbor some time ago that would play his music Rap "music" full volume. The entire apartment buidling felt like it had a pulse due to his LOUD "music". I went over and asked him to please turn down his music. He got pissed and wanted to fight. I backed off and let it go. Not long after...

      odd encounter

I called the apartment manager. Was told that since I didn't know this guy or where he lived there was nothing they could do. Then suggested next time to call apartment security or the police. Your right, just because I wasn't harmed and the situation was resolved for me doesn't mean he didn't...

      odd encounter

I didn't call the cops after this situation ended and the apartment next door is empty. I wouldn't do that to my neighbor unless he was an a**hole, then probably not anyway. Saturday night, just past midnight, police response time for this would not have been short. The police here are VERY busy...

      odd encounter

This past Saturday night I had got off work and just parked my truck in the apartments where I live in. I was still in my navy blue hospital scrubs with ID bade around my neck. It was 1230am, dark of course, so as I exited my truck I took a moment to scan the parking lot for any signs of...

      Mental Illness Control?

If a person is admitted to the hospital, say for a medical or psychiatric problem, and he/she is found to be homicidal/suicidal or gravely ill then the doctor admits this patient under a Physicians Emergency Commitment (PEC). The hospital then notifies the Coroner's Office of the PEC. The...

      Circle K's anti-gun policy

This eveing after work I went to the Circle K on Shreveport/Barksdale Blvd in Shreveport. As I was standing in line I noticed a large sign by the door, attached to the glass window, listing all the things one cannot do while inside the store. Among the listing of can't do's, in small print, was...

How many of you carry a round in the chamber?

I CC either a Ruger SP 101, .357 magnum or Kimber Ultra Raptor II. The revolver is a moot point but in my Ultra Raptor II I always carry in Condition One.

Is Gun in car OK at V.A. Hospitals/Clinics?

One other important thing about bringing firearms onto Federal VA Hospital property. If one is caught there is a chance that person "could" be barred from further VA hospital care and be seen only in emergency situations. This would be an extreme case but it could happen. Most people in their...
