So I really enjoy throwing tomahawks. I've got 3 of them, but my problem is that I don't have anything good to throw them at. I used to have some soft trees that worked perfectly, but not at the place I'm living now. I'm trying to find a Louisiana based knife and tomahawk throwing club, but the...
In all the recent hullabaloo, it turns out I bought two boxes of CCI Small Pistol Magnum primers when I thought I was buying regular small pistol. It isn't that big of a deal, because I could always just shoot lots of weaksauce .357 Mag loads instead of my customary .38 special target load, but...
I'm thinking of putting plastic furniture on my WASR-10, but I don't want to spend a bajillion bucks on the thing. I think the TAPCO folding stock seems pretty decent for under $40 bucks, but what I really am unsure about is the handguard/forend. These things get so damn hot that I burn myself...
I would have preferred a nickel model 19, but you just don't see them that much anymore, and if you do, they are pricey. I'm going to use it as a carry gun anyway, so I guess stainless is more practical.
I've shot a 2 inch model 19 with full bore magnums before, so I have an idea of how it will handle. I don't think it is too much recoil wise, but what worries me more is the enormous fireball of unburned powder out of the muzzle. I think I am going to make up a 140 grain reduced-power load...
I've been interested in getting grips like this for my 6" 686, which I use just for target purposes. For the concealed gun, though, I want some shorter grips, because I very often carry IWB with just a t-shirt covering it, so the shorter the grip the better. And I actually like finger grooves...
At the gun show last weekend I picked up a used Smith and Wesson model 66 2.5 inch. It is in great shape, tight cylinder lockup, no lawyer lock nonsense, and I plan to use it as a carry gun. There are some things that I want some input on, though.
First, I've heard about K-frames and issues...
UPDATE:
Ok, well I think I have all the parts now. Got an Essential Arms stripped lower on sale at Cabela's last night. I got a DPMS Sportical upper (complete upper so that I don't have to fool with assembling that), a DPMS lower receiver parts kit (I was going to get fancy internals, but the...
Gentlemen, I invite you all to beat this dead horse.
I have never put together an AR. I have an AK. Most of my guns are handguns, and I spend most of my time here on the handguns and the ammo and reloading boards. However, my birthday is next week, and my fiancee is going to buy me an AR...
I've been busy starting a new job and I'm going to be out of town all next week, so I won't be able to deal with it for a while. I'll update when I've made some progress.
I'd tend to agree with some others that the .44 Mag is kind of a big bang to go off in the close quarters of a vehicle. I mean, if you are shooting someone who is coming at you through the driver side window I'd worry about getting hot gas in my eyes from the barrel/cylinder gap.
That being...
I've always liked Zea since they opened up in Metairie several years ago. I'm actually meeting my fiancee at the one in Baton Rouge Towne Center for lunch tomorrow. The pesto crusted trout is my favorite thing on their lunch menu, with thai snap beans and the corn grits.
Ok, so I've been having endless issues with my STI Spartan .45, and I don't know what my next move should be. Here is the story:
Ordered the Spartan from Brazos Custom Gunworks about a year and a half ago. After lots of research, I had decided that it would be a great choice for a first...
My most favorite part of videos like this, and I know we've all seen plenty, is that once shot, or shot at, the criminals almost always seem to lose their ability to run and stand. They immediately trip when they try to run away, and end up sliding/slinking across the floor in a mad hurry.
And...
I have some .45 colt brass somewhere that I picked up at the range. Not sure how much of it, but I think at least 50 cases. I've been saving it for the day I get a .45 colt, but that day seems to get further and further away. If I can find it, I'll sell it to you cheap.
Edit. Found it. If I...
I like my SIGs, but glocks are great, too. If you are getting a glock for a woman, get the G19. 9mm is your best bet, and the grip on the G17 is kind of giant for smaller hands.
Even as a big fan of revolvers, I don't see how you need two different N frames. Sure the 27 and 29 are nice, but the only difference between them really is caliber, so I don't see why two slots would be used for them.
Sure I think everyone should have a snub nose, but I don't really think it...
