About forty years ago Ft. Sill was a wonderful place compared to Ft. Polk or Ft. Benning, GA. I did my OTS at Sill. One hell of a lot better climate. I've been to all three in the dead heat of summer. Consider yourself lucky.
Of course, there are people here who will say I never served...
The Ranger school was at Benning. Special Forces personnel who were short were assigned there as instructors. A large OCS contingent was also present, as well as basic training. I was there, ate the sand before breakfast, and know what I saw. Where were all you folks, dodging the draft?
Mobile, Alabama. Nice little bay. Large freshwater river feeding the bay. Hill country living to the NW just off I-10. Close to some great beaches in Florida. Yard work in the suburbs. Best BBQ you'll ever eat.
Anty was an invited "guest"...to a planned robbery. Castle doctrine will not apply here.
Yea, Vanilla, I read the decision...the Ninth Circus is well know for bad decisions...SCOTUS recently scathed their collective ass for it. Another court might easily decide Anty carried a gun for...
Anty did not use his weapon in furtherance of a drug deal. He didn't pull it out until a real threat was presented. I have to agree with MEM. An armed robber got wasted, that's all there is to it. The FBI has said you can kill 'em as a justifiable homicide. WTF is with the DA and his pious...
Candid Camera's usual format, taking pictures of unsuspecting persons doing stupid things totally unaware of the camera's presence.

In my wildest dreams I caught a fish like that.
Check the linky under the pic. Goes to the BR Advocate today.
LSP says you can't trust The Advocate, but I think that's Vanilla Gorilla holding up the fish.
Vanillagorilla, allow me to clarify that you were correct in your original statement on this thread that "You can "conceal" a knife all you want." This is perhaps on account of the statute being poorly written, but it is what it is.
I apologize for the confusion.
I don't need to be "qualified" to post here. And you don't have to buy into anything I say. I'm waiting to see if Alan Gura and the Second Amendment Foundation take up the constitutionality of concealed carry laws before I take any legal or legislative action.
As far as for your comment...
Another aspect of analyzing the statutory language of LRS 14:95:
If the above captioned weapon is intended for use in defending self, is it a "dangerous" weapon in the eyes the bearer (who is the party who might be charged)?
Or is it a "beneficial" or "helpful" weapon to him or her?
That was not a flip-flop. My first post was specifically intended to point out the obvious disparity between the law and actual enforcement of the law.
The ensuing discussion then clarifies one can carry a concealed knife in Louisiana only because a state statute does not survive legal...
