      My New Toy

Not sure how many music guys we have here, but I thought I'd show this off. 1966 "American" Vox Continental V301H. Most Continentals were made either in England or Italy, but for a few months, they were made in the US.

      Tundra Auto-Unlock on Park Tutorial

I can't stand how my truck unlocks the doors when I shift it to Park. A major safety issue, especially in New Orleans. I drive a 2013, but I believe this works going back to at least 2009 models. 1. With the engine off, close all doors. 2. Set the Parking Brake. 3. Insert Key and Turn...

Has it ever happened to you?

Getting ready for bed about 30 minutes ago, I move my PF9 in its holster from my work desk to my nightstand. Even with a good grip on the holster, as I open the nightstand drawer, I drop the gun. Probably 5 feet to the floor. I tried to move out of the line of fire, but that muzzle followed my...

Robbery Victim in the Quarter tonight

Took a drive through the Quarter tonight, and hung a left onto Orleans Avenue behind the Cathedral. At Dauphine and Orleans, I see a woman run up to a taxi, screaming help. Taxi just drives off. She then runs to St. Peter screaming help, and back towards Rampart. I follow her, and pull up next...

      Surefire Flashlight

I picked up a red Surefire 6PX Pro for my mother-in-law for Christmas. Before boxing it up, I tried it out. My goodness this thing has a beam. It was only dusk, but it was hitting my neighbors house with ease, which is at least 300 feet away. The finish and construction are excellent. Awesome...

      Way down yonder in Plaquemines

Took a ride down to Mary Plantation in Plaquemines Parish. It's a bit below Braithwaite. Had some extra time to kill when I got there, so I drove all the way down to Davant. Beautiful part of the state down there. Tons of old houses and old ruins. And it seems like almost every property owner...

      Old vs New

I know it's probably been posted before, but it is a neat video. I am usually a proponent of everything old. But in the case of vehicle safety, the victory definitely goes to the new.
